Drunken Paw is a collaborative trio who have been working together since 2009; Mark Dicey, Leslie Sweder and Janet Turner. Our trio creates multiple images simultaneously. Three separate drawings are rotated between the three artists with each taking part in the conversation by reacting to what the others have previously expressed.
The completed works are more of a collision than a collaboration, responses becoming automatic, primitive and at times transcendent as the momentum of the session builds.
Eventually the group lands on some triangulation of a shared entanglement, the residual effect of this being a lush landscape both of our collective subconscious and the environment we live in --- all culminating in our own form of magic realism.
